In the Arctic food chain, it is shown that the Polar Bear is the Tertiary Consumer, the Arctic Fox is the Secondary Consumer, the Lemming is the Primary Consumer, that Lichen is the Producer, and that Arctic Moss is the Decomposer. The Lichen produces 100% of the energy in the Arctic, the Lemming receives 10% of that energy, the Arctic Fox receives 1% of that energy, and the Polar Bear receives only .01% of that energy. In the Arctic food chain, the Arctic Fox is the secondary consumer, second only to the Polar Bear (as shown in the chart).
